Treasure Earth Prize is pleased to announce the appointment of Rasheed Khan as Senior Risk and Sustainability Champion, Head of Finance and Member of the Advisory Board effective 21 July 2023.

Rasheed brings a wealth of experience to Treasure Earth Prize as a seasoned finance professional and expert, notably across corporate sustainability and as Finance Lead on a Climate programme in the banking sector.

Rasheed has been in his current role as Finance Manager, Global Corporate Sustainability at HSBC for nearly 10 years managing an impressive portfolio incorporating a broad range of functions from strategic planning, financial risk management, data analytics and financial reporting supporting the Office of the Group CEO.

HSBC has received an AA ranking from MSCI one of the world’s leading providers of research and insights that address investment considerations such as ESG, climate, risk and return for the investment community.

Working with Group functions to share best practice in the development of HSBC’s own data gathering tool to increase accuracy in reporting and forecasting, his own forecast was within just 0.1% of actuals.

Rasheed was appointed Finance Lead of HSBC’s New Climate programme where he works with and onboards their key partners such as the WWF and is responsible for the reports presented to the EXCO.

Rasheed is no stranger to volunteering and was awarded the Millennium Volunteers Award for Excellence. The Award, signed by the Secretary of State for Education and Employment, marks the completion of a Volunteer Plan and 200 hours of sustained voluntary activity. His volunteer experience was gained on the following projects:

  • Chaired Finance and Resources Committee meetings and influenced key stakeholders and reformed financial policy.

Treasurer and Trustee for a Recovery Resources Foundation – 1 year

  • A charity that supports services for men and women in recovery from addiction

Voluntary Teaching Assistant – Groby Community College – 3 years

  • Mentor and tutor to younger students
