James Graham

Treasure Earth is pleased to announce the appointment of James Graham as Intellectual Property Counsel at Treasure Earth C.I.C and Member of the Advisory Board effective 16 September 2019. James has an impressive career spanning over 20 years including senior leadership roles for a major multinational and as a UK qualified lawyer with extensive experience of international trademark, patent, design, copyright and other intellectual property matters both in-house and in private practice.
He is currently Vice President, Chief Intellectual Property Counsel for a Fortune Global 500 company with over $20 billion in global sales. Among his notable achievements he has built a world class in-house IP team of attorneys and professionals and has over-arching global responsibility for protection, clearance and application of IP to support business strategies.
During his extensive career he has managed IP aspects of complex corporate transactions and a portfolio of 13,000 trademarks and applications and of 8,000 patents and applications and is the creator of a sophisticated anti-counterfeiting program protecting significant numbers of online trading platforms from large scale infringers.
He started his career working at one of the top ‘big four’ management consultancy firms.
CSR
James also took an active part in his firm’s in-house CSR initiatives reaching out and partnering with local and community based projects while based in Switzerland.

James is a published author and regular speaker at international legal conferences
Co-author of first and second editions of The Modern Law of Trademarks (by Morcom, Roughton and Graham, Butterworths, 2000 & 2005)
Lectured Intellectual Property Law on a London University LLB course
He has also been Secretary of the Intellectual Property Bar Association
He is a barrister with the following engineering qualifications :
MA Master’s Degree: Mechanical Engineering, University of Bristol
Research into Robotics and Machine Vision
BA Bachelor’s Degree: Mechanical Engineering, University of Bristol
